Access: Closed.</p><p>Scope and Content Notes The historical materials compiled by Second Fleet's Public Affairs Office, were received in the Operational Archives Branch in October 1996. The collection includes: printed material on Operations DESERT SHIELD and DESERT STORM, Haiti operations, port visits, and other naval subjects; a file on twin chiefs, RMCM(SW) Terry L. Baker and FCCM(SW) Jerry L. Baker; and photographs, slides, and negatives of Operations RESTORE HOPE, SEA SIGNAL, DENY FLIGHT, RESTORE DEMOCRACY, SUPPORT DEMOCRACY and UPHOLD DEMOCRACY, a Navy-Air Force Harpoon Exercise, a USS IOWA Plaque Dedication Ceremony, Change of Command Ceremony, Soviet Visit to Norfolk in 1989 and a U.S. Navy Visit to Severomorsk in 1992, and miscellaneous naval subjects and activities.</p><p>The photographic materials (photos, slides, negatives) were transferred to the Center's Curator Branch, Photographic Section on 24 October 1996. The transferred materials include: 8 Envelopes of slides for Operation RESTORE HOPE (1), SEA SIGNAL (1), DENY FLIGHT (1), RESTORE DEMOCRACY (2), SUPPORT DEMOCRACY (2), and UPHOLD DEMOCRACY (1); Photographs & Negatives of USS IOWA Plaque Dedication, 19 April 1990; 2 Files of Photographs & Slide of Navy-Air Force Harpoon Exercise. 20 April 1986 in the Eastern Caribbean; Photographs of Soviet Port Visit to Norfolk in 1989 and U.S. Navy Visit to Severomorsk in 1992 [The Soviet Visit to Norfolk took place on 21-25 July 1989. Three ships from the Soviet Navy visited Naval Station, Norfolk. The U.S. Navy visit to Severomorsk took place on 1-5 July 1992.
