<p> ISE 312 Manufacturing Systems II</p><p>Industrial and Systems Engineering Spring 2017 4 credits CRN 20629</p><p>Overview This course has three main areas of focus: Production and Inventory Control, Planning and Design of Manufacturing Facilities, and Understanding the Physical Fundamentals of Processes and is designed mainly for engineering students intent on following an engineering career in a manufacturing industry. This course covers the models, networking, and systems needed to design and manage a manufacturing enterprise. Topics include facility design & material handling, forecasting techniques, demand management, economic lot size, inventory management, and scheduling methods. This course is considered a technical elective. Grade Dependence: Homework (3) & Facility Design 100 points Project & Presentation 100 points Exams (2) 200 points Final Exam on Machining Processes 100 points Total: 500 points</p><p>Exams Cell phones or wireless devices must be stored in non-reachable locations during Exams. Project & Presentation Each student will be assigned one process to study. A class presentation will be required. The presentation will be evaluated by the class and the class instructor. The instructor will make the final grade assignment for each project & presentation. A directory of project topics and objectives will be listed on the class web site.</p><p>Machining Process Videos There will be approximately (25) videos highlighting various industrial processes. Videos will be viewed at the start of class. One final exam will contain all video machine process questions during finals week. All notes, manuals, and any text collected during the semester will be allowed during the video final exam. </p><p>1</p>
