Incorporated into this course are heavy-truck electrical theory, engine and truck wiring circuits, storage batteries and diesel electrical system testing. This course is recommended as an Elective in Diesel Equipment Technology.</p><p>SKILL SETS Truck Wiring Circuits Storage Batteries</p><p>1 Diesel Electrical Systems WVEIS 1742</p><p>Skill Set Truck Wiring Circuits Knowledge Objectives Students will demonstrate knowledge of  basic electrical theory. 1742.1  basic electrical system testing and equipment.  truck wiring circuits. Performance Objectives Students will</p><p>1742.2  calculate voltage, current, and resistance values using Ohms’s law. 1742.3  describe terms associated with electrical theory. 1742.4  demonstrate the proper use of a test light. 1742.5  test circuits using the proper function and range of a multimeter. 1742.6  locate open, shorted and grounded circuits. 1742.7  demonstrate the proper repair procedures for faulty wiring and connectors. 1742.8  construct and test basic circuits involving fuses, relays and solenoids. 1742.9  identify three basic circuits used in wiring systems.
