<p> Maryland Addictions Director’s Council Workforce Development Committee Conference Call Minutes ■ February 3, 2010</p><p>Members participating in the call: Mike Bartlinski, Gary Fry, Rebecca Hogamier, Tracey Myers-Preston, John Winslow.</p><p>Recruitment Committee Mike updated us on the recent meeting with our Higher Education partners held at Harbel on January 29. The group identified the need to engage potential students prior to curriculum work. Two target areas were discussed; getting out to high school and community college career fairs and launching a media campaign. </p><p>The committee talked about opportunities to seek funding for both possible grants to students and for support of a media campaign. </p><p>Mike is going to contact the Higher Education Commission, Parole and Probation and the Department of Justice to see if there is interest in partnering or supporting our efforts. Tracey will also contact Faces and Voices of Recovery to learn if they would like to partner in any way.</p><p>Another face to face meeting is going to be planned and then the group hopes to move some meetings to a conference call format.</p><p>Salary Survey Gary shared an update on the salary survey. Tracey reported that we have received 12 completed surveys. The deadline is Monday and Gary will make an announcement at the MADC. We will have hard copies at the MADC meeting as well.</p><p>State Council Becky reported that the next State Council Meeting will take place on April 21 in Hagerstown at the Washington County Health Department. She is working on the salary survey and will keep us posted as her work on it progresses.</p><p>Other Business Tracey will contact Sue Tangires and invite her to participate in our calls during Cindy Shaw-Wilson’s absence.</p><p>Mike will send Tracey his email list and she will set things up for an Evite to go out in advance of future meetings.</p><p>The committee will meet again by conference call on Wednesday, March 3 at 9:00am.</p>
