<p> 4th Grade News Flash… </p><p>Hello Parents,</p><p>This is the 4th Grade News Flash for this WAVE cycle. Here are the points of interest over the next few days.</p><p> Ms. Corbett’s Class: </p><p> o In math, we are finishing up this week on finding equivalent fractions and comparing fractions. Next week, we are moving into adding and subtracting fractions, decomposing fractions, and changing a mixed number into an improper fraction. </p><p> o In science, we are continuing to do activities with our electricity unit. Students have learned how to make a complete circuit and the difference between an insulator and conductor. </p><p> o This week for Cooking Friday, we will be making Mocha Fudge Cake, yum! There will be no cooking the following week due to our WAVE day. </p><p> Mr. Harris’ class </p><p> o In ELA, Students will get their spelling list of the week and will continue to work in USA Test Prep. Students will be introduced to our new class novel; “CRASH”, by: Jerry Spinelli</p><p>We will start a new creative writing assignment on Leprechaun’s using figurative language and will be working on non-fiction reading article’s in our scholastic.</p><p> o In S.S., we will continue learning about the Constitution and our three branches of government as well as working on dailies.</p><p> Interim Reports: </p><p> o Interim reports go home tomorrow. Please sign and return them. Students need to turn in any missing work as soon as possible. </p><p>Looking Forward…..</p><p> Make- Up Day: Next Wednesday, is not an early release day anymore. Students will have a full school due to the snow days. </p><p> Next WAVE day: Friday, March 13th </p><p> Due Dates: ELA: Leprechaun’s Abound narrative due March 20th. Upcoming tests: Math: equivalent fractions and comparing fractions – Friday, March 6th. Math: adding and subtracting and decomposing fractions- Thursday, March 12th. </p><p> Book reports: Be sure your child is working on their book reports at home.
