<p>Pacific County Marine Resources Committee Meeting Notes – Thursday, August 14, 2014 South Bend Annex Building – South Bend, WA</p><p>Attending: Key McMurry Doug Kess Kevin Decker Dale Beasley Paul Philpot Tim Morris Mike Nordin Michael Spencer Will Hamlin Jeni Maakad</p><p>Introductions and Minutes: 6 Board members, 1 Alternate, and 3 guests were present. Introductions were made around the room. </p><p>The PCMRC reviewed the July 2014 meeting minutes. The July 2014 meeting minutes were approved. Mike Nordin made a motion to approve the July minutes, Key seconded it. The motion was passed unanimously by voice vote.</p><p>Item #1 Washaway Beach Will informed the group about the preliminary stages for this project and how its current status is. He also stated that there is a Beach Cleanup at North Cove August 30 at 8am at the Warrenton Cannery. </p><p>Item #2 MRC Summit Planning Doug updated the group that there are two possible places that will host this event. He also was able to secure a fisheries presentation for the event. This event will be Oct. 23-25.</p><p>Item # 3 Facilitation Workshop Next PCMRC meeting from 4-6 (before the meeting), there will be facilitator providing insight on communication and social media. There will be pizza provided. </p><p>Item #4 Energy Presentation Doug mentioned that Rick is a Technical expert from Grays Harbor PUD and will have a presentation open to the public September 3 from 2:30-4:30pm.</p><p>Item #5 VOCAL Report There was nothing new to report. </p><p>Item #6 PCMRC Grants 2014-2015 Mike Nordin brought to the attention that there is still a need for more grants, but currently there is 1 from Vegetation management, 3 from Willapa Valley School districts, and 1 from Naselle High School. They will be emailed out in electric form before the September meeting.</p><p>Item #7 Pacific County SMP Update</p><p>1 Doug mentioned that the meeting was a ‘get to you know’ meeting, but there will be many more meetings in the future</p><p>Item #8 Public Comment</p><p>Key informed the group of a 2 day workshop presented by NOAA on Sept 17 and 18 (look for email)</p><p>Kevin wanted to get feedback on an email he had previously sent, he will be resending an updated version. He wanted suggestions since he is involved with outreach too-it was suggested to go to the schools to try out the program from DNR.
