<p> Technology-Connected Lesson Plan</p><p>Title: 1,2,3 Add Me Grade Levels: 3rd grade Curriculum Areas:  Math Measurable Objectives: TLW add 3 digits. TLW create 3 digit addition equations. LA Content Standards:  Add and subtract numbers of 3 digits or less (N-6-E) (N-7-E) Technology Standards: Technology Productivity Tools (Resource Access and Utilization Foundation Skill) Students use technology tools to enhance learning, increase productivity, and promote creativity. Students use productivity tools to work collaboratively in developing technology-rich, authentic, student-centered products. Technology Connection:  SMART Board  Flip Video Recorder Procedures:  Anticipatory Set: TTW show a short video clip on the process of adding 3 digits. (Show wmp. file) TTW then roll a dice on the Smart Board three times. As the numbers are rolled the teacher will write those numbers on the board.  Modeling: Using the three numbers rolled, TTW modeling the steps for adding 3 digits. 3 2 +4 9 TTW do another one using different numbers.  Guided Practice: TTW hand out dry erase boards. Then TTW divide the students into pairs. TTW roll the dice on the Smart Board and ask each student to write each number along with the teacher as she does it on the board. TSW draw the arrows to show what is added first, then add those 2 numbers, then draw the arrows to show what is added 2nd, then add to get the sum. TTW allow some of the</p><p>1 students to come to the Smart Board to roll the dice. Several of these will be done with the students.  Independent Practice: Each pair of students will get a dice. TSW take turns rolling the dice. As a number is rolled on the dice, the students will write the number on the dry erase board. The dice will roll again, TSW write it again, TSW roll one last time and they write it again. The students will draw the lines and arrows to show the order of the adding process. TTW set the timer for 15 minutes. TSW complete as many problems as they can in this time frame.  Review/Closure: TTW ask a volunteers to come to the Smart Board to do each step of the 3 digit adding process. The class will offer help to those that need it. </p><p>Materials:  Dice  Paper and pencil  Dry Erase boards Assessment:  TTW give each student a slip of paper. Each student will roll the dice three times to get their numbers. Then they will write their 3 digit addition equation on their paper and solve. This slip will be turned in to the teacher to review.
