This lesson will be used as a method of providing background information and as a foreshadowing of future study of the constitution.</p><p>Objectives: What will the students do in order to gain understanding in relation to the rationale or understanding goal? </p><p>Students will analyze and draw conclusions from reading the Bill of Rights.</p><p>Purpose of Library of Congress Resource: Example:</p><p>Library items give students the opportunity to closely examine the original documents and the history behind the Bill of Rights.</p><p>State Standard/s:</p><p>Understands the historical perspective Level III (Grades 7-8) 1. Understands that specific individuals and the values those individuals held had an impact on history 2. Analyzes the influence specific ideas and beliefs had on a period of history 3. Analyzes the effect that specific "chance events" had on history 4. Analyzes the effects specific decisions had on history 5. Have the students brain storm and share what knowledge they have concerning the Bill of Rights  Application Activity- Provide the students with worksheet with Library of Congress site from James Madison Center. Read together introduction and assign activity.</p><p>Formal Assessment:</p><p>Using the worksheet provided check the students for understanding and discuss students conclusions.</p><p>2</p>
