Answer the questions contained in the handout. </p><p>Part B Due ______Choose any metallic mineral. It can be one you studied in class; or from your text book; or from another source. 1. List the properties of the mineral (color, luster, hardness, breakage (cleavage or fracture), streak, other distinct properties. 2. Answer the following questions: a. What is the chemical formula for this mineral? b. What are some important uses for this mineral? c. Where is the mineral found (countries, states, specific locations) d. Describe the mining process typically used to extract the mineral from earth. e. Describe some of the environmental concerns with mining this mineral. f. How are these concerns being addressed? g. Make a sketch of the mineral you chose.</p><p>Use complete sentences to answer questions d, e and f.</p><p>3. REQUIRED! List all sources used for this lab assignment. Note: You must use a citation for information that is not common knowledge about the mineral, or for any direct quote. A citation follows the sentence in parentheses (minerals.com).</p><p>Hint: You may want to start by searching the environmental concerns of mining metals and then choose a mineral.
