<p> BARBARA R. SHIELDS GRADUATE ENDOWMENT 2017 – 2018 FELLOWSHIP</p><p>The Barbara R. Shields Graduate Fellowship is available for the 2017-18 school year. Two scholarships will be awarded, worth $4,350 each. Students applying for this fellowship must meet the following criteria:</p><p>1. Must be a full-time student at EWU during 2017-2018; 2. Must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average and maintain a 3.0 or better cumulative GPA through the duration of the fellowship; 3. Must be admitted to the Masters of Science in Communications Program or the MS/MA Interdisciplinary Studies Program majoring in Communications; 4. Must demonstrate financial need; and 5. Must be from a home town in Eastern Washington designated by the following counties: Adams, Asotin, Benton, Columbia, Douglas, Ferry, Franklin, Garfield, Grant, Lincoln, Okanogan, Pend Orielle, Spokane, Stevens, Walla Walla and Whitman.</p><p>In order to apply for the fellowship, the following materials must be submitted to the EWU Financial Aid & Scholarship Office postmarked on or before Friday, May 5, 2017.</p><p>1. The complete application form with the applicant’s signature; 2. In no more than two pages, describe the reasons for your program of study; your goals/plans for the future; challenges you have faced and how you have overcome them; and why you feel you qualify for the fellowship. Also, report any significant activities, service and/or awards.
