<p> Oath of Fidelity</p><p>Instructions: This document is prepared on the Friday before ordination by the Ordinand himself in his own handwriting and must follow the format below. The Ordinand then places his hand on a Bible, says the words on the document he wrote with his brother Ordinands, and signs the oath in the presence of his Formators and peers:</p><p>Oath of Fidelity By (Ordinand’s Name)</p><p>(Date)</p><p>As a candidate for the order of Deacon, to be received under the title of service to the Diocese, I promise and swear that I will perpetually serve the Diocese of Albany, in the United States of America, under the authority of the Ordinary of the Diocese and his successors; so help me God and these, His Holy Gospels, which I touch with my hand.</p><p>(Signature)</p>
