Each collection is to be announced in the parish a week before it is taken up.</p><p>2. These collections are not optional (except for The U.P. Catholic Newspaper and the Solidarity Fund for the Church in Africa collections). All parishes and missions are responsible for taking up the collections.</p><p>3. Separate checks for each collection should be sent to the attention of the Diocesan Accounting Office as soon as possible after the collection is taken up (except for the U.P Catholic, which can be retained by the parish).</p>
