<p>MEMORANDUM</p><p>DATE: May 22, 2009</p><p>TO: YWCA Executives</p><p>FROM: Lorraine Cole, Ph.D., CEO</p><p>CC: Regional Managers</p><p>RE: YWCA World Council 2011</p><p>Attached are documents regarding the selection of delegates and alternates for World Council 2011 in Zurich, Switzerland. Two nominees from each region are requested by the dates indicated, one being a woman under 30. Please read through the information document carefully. Individual application forms and the delegate information document are to be distributed to those interested in representing the YWCA USA at World Council. </p><p>DEADLINES . Applications must be submitted to the regional president by Sept 15, 2009. . Regional nominations must be submitted to the YWCA USA by December 15, 2009.</p><p>The six official voting delegates will consist of: . The Chair of the National Coordinating Board (NCB) . The YWCA USA CEO . Two women under 30 . Two others</p><p>The World YWCA has also requested and is encouraging that one of the six voting delegates be HIV positive and this has been added to the nomination forms. While the two under 30 voting delegates are a requirement, the HIV positive person is a request only.</p><p>Because the YWCA USA has six voting delegates due to a change in the World YWCA bylaws passed in 2007, only four of the nine regions will have a voting delegate. Regional geography will be considered for alternates and those regions that have an alternate selected are strongly encouraged to help fund that person’s trip to World Council.
