<p>Dear parents,</p><p>Your child has expressed interest in auditioning for the All-Ohio Children’s Chorus! It is a huge honor to be a part of this chorus. Five fourth grade students from Perry were accepted last year! The requirements for participating in the All- Ohio Chorus include being registered for choir class in fifth grade in Perry, paying $15 to audition, attending three regional rehearsals and attending the final performance in Columbus on February 8, 2018 at the Ohio Music Education Association Professional Convention. Last year, regional rehearsals were for a couple hours on Saturdays in Chagrin Falls Students will rehearse with well respected guest conductor at the Columbus Convention Center on February 8th starting at 8:30 AM until their 5:00 PM performance. I am looking for students that can take this seriously, positively represent our school, and who can focus and work hard in all rehearsals. </p><p>The audition requirement is that I make an audio recording of each child singing solo, the two songs that are attached to this letter. I will submit the recording to a panel of judges at The Ohio Music Education Association, in addition to sending in an application and a non- refundable $15 audition fee. Families will be notified by mail if your child has been accepted or not by August 31. The deadline for applications is May 31. I need to choose participants and record the children singing by the end of the school year. Music does not have to be memorized. </p><p>Please fill out the form below ASAP if your child would like to participate in the audition process and is able to make the above requirements. I will help him or her to learn the music, make the recording, and fill out the application. Please do not send me the $15 payment yet. I want to make sure that all of the kids are ready first, and that I think that they will have a chance at being accepted before I take your money! You can make a choice whether to accept or decline the invitation in September if your child is accepted.
