National Archives and Records Administration 8601 Adelphi Road College Park, Maryland 20740-6001 November 24,2009 Re: Freedom of Information Act Requests NGC10-014 This is in response to your Freedom of Information Act request of May 22, 2009, for a printout or copy of the listing of transcripts and interviews and other records associated with the Rogers Commission formally known as the Presidential Commission on the Space Shuttle Challenger Accident. Your original request ofMay 22,2009, was forwarded to our Special Access and FOIA staff as a request for any withheld materials from the Rogers Commission. That request, our reference NW 32190, has been withdrawn based on our face to face discussion concerning this issue. We are now treating your May 22, 2009 request as an initial request for operational records received in this office for the first time on October 25, 2009. I apologize for any inconvenience the delay may have caused. Unfortunately, NARA does not have a complete finding aid detailing transcripts and interviews conducted by the Commission. This information is found among the published volumes of the Rogers Commission Report. The table of contents and some documents from the Commission are available on the NASA website at http://history.nasa.gov/rogersrep/genindex.htm Enclosed, however, are all documents we were able to locate concerning the Rogers Committee records referenced in your request. We are including copies of the accession dossier, staff notes concerning electronic records transferred to NARA from the Rogers Commission, the entry on these records from The Guide to Federal Records in the Archives of the United States. Please be advised the references to photographic images used by the Commission can be found on the Access to Archival Databases (AAD) which can be found on our website at www.archives.gov. Please let me know if I may be of further assistance. l'fARA FOIA Officer Office of General Counsel Enclosure NARA 's web site is http://www.archives.gov NUMBER CLOSED DATE BY (Signature) ~-),· 3-1-7() Director, z I Q CONSOLIDATED WITH t- < I TRANSACTIDM NUMBER OTHER IDENTIFICATION a: 0:: t- LLJ ~ (f) en ' ,. ~· ~ :E 0 a 0 < ::z: 0 0 a - a: 1-- 0 (.) 0 < RELATED TRANS~CTIONS w (f) ::z:l TRANSACTION NUMBER OT~ER IDBNTIFICATION a: < Qz ~I N3-220-86-7 < en w 1- > LIJ -::t LLJ 0 :X: a: en < 0:: ..J LLJ INSERTIONS AND CHANGES < > z DATE 0 31 N~TURE OF INSERTION OR CHANGE t-- IJJ/,4---IJ- 'f6 -&afJ-0 <z NA FORM 14039 (12-85) .~ ; REQUEST TO TRANSFER, APPROVAL, AND LEA\tc BLANK RG UNIT 'DATE R,ECEIVED UNIT DATE RECEIVED RECEIPT OF RECORDS TO N~TIONAL ARCHIVES OF THE UNITED STATES JOB NUMBER (See Instructions on reverse) 7JN~B~o£q~ 1.
