If Apple Watch detects a hard fall and that you have been immobile for about a minute, it will make a call to emergency services automatically. If you entered your age when you set up your Apple Watch or in the Health app and you’re age 55 and over, this feature is turned on by default. However, anyone 18 years and older can also turn on fall detection on Apple Watch SE and Apple Watch Series 4 and later by following these steps: 1. Open the Settings app on your Apple Watch. 2. Go to SOS > Fall Detection, then turn on Fall Detection. Note: If you turn off wrist detection, Apple Watch SE and Apple Watch Series 4 and later won’t automatically make an emergency call even after it has detected a hard impact fall. You can also open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone, tap My Watch, tap Emergency SOS, then turn on Fall Detection.
