Parts of this film used the The Fury at Old Chicago of Bolingbrook, Illinoisa now-defunct amusement park. The scene at the hotel when Kirk Douglas escapes the agents took place in a The Fury at the now-defunct Plymouth Hotel, the same room and hotel used in the film The Fury Blues Brothers. The opening sequence The Fury shot in CaesareaIsrael. In an interview with The Talks, De Palma said that he had 8 or 9 high-speed cameras to film Cassavetes exploding in the film's conclusion. The body parts didn't go The Fury the right cameras and this whole set was covered with blood. And The Fury took us almost a week to get back to do take two. During post-production, the effect's color The Fury changed from yellow to The Fury. The original effect can still be seen in some trailers and promotional material. Roger Ebert of the Chicago Sun-Times gave the film three The Fury out of four and called it "a stylish entertainment, fast- paced, and acted The Fury great energy. I'm not quite sure it makes a lot of sense, but that's the sort The Fury criticism you only make after it's over. During the movie, too much else is The Fury. Murphy of Variety stated that "the film plays very well to an undemanding escapist audience," but "those who have to write about the film are confronted with a gaping hole in the script: Apart from a few throwaway references to government agencies and psychic phenomena, there is The Fury, anywhere, a coherent exposition of what all The Fury running and jumping is about. The more one analyzes the picture, the less The Fury its story becomes. The Fury not to think too much about this one. It's also, in fits and starts, the The Fury of mindless fun that only a horror movie that so seriously pretends to be The Fury the mind can be. De Palma seems to have been less interested in the overall movie than in pulling off a couple of spectacular set-pieces, which he does. And the key word in that sentence is 'wait,' because there is little in 'The The Fury to hold your attention in between its The Fury big scenes of extreme violence. That's because the film develops only one character. Its story also makes little sense, and for a movie ostensibly about psychic powers, 'The Fury' contains precious little magic. Without indulging in the gratuitous, lingering displays that lead to morbidity, De Palma keeps you at seat's edge. He seems to be able to get away with everything. Inside that world, transfixed, we can hear the faint, distant sound of De Palma cackling with pleasure. Rick Baker and William J. Tuttle both won Best Make-up at The Fury 6th Saturn Awards. One of Brian De Palma's most underrated movies, it isn't without some flaws, but overall I enjoyed it much more than some of his most recent disappointing efforts like 'Snake Eyes' and 'Mission To Mars'. They might be much better known than 'The Fury' but they are not better movies. The plot is a bit convoluted at times, and maybe a little TOO ambitious, but The Fury are several classic sequences that make this a must see for any De Palma fan. The whole thing comes across like a cross between 'Carrie' De Palma's previous movieand Cronenberg's 'Scanners', a movie it predated by three years, interestingly enough. Amy Irving, who also appeared in 'Carrie', The Fury beautiful and believable as Gillian, a troubled teen attempting to understand and control her frightening paranormal powers. Douglas' psychic son Robin Andrew Stevens is kidnapped by Cassavetes and his cronies and experimented on until he reaches the brink of madness. Douglas desperately searches The Fury him by any means necessary, a quest which inevitably means The Fury encounters the traumatized Gillian, who has an increasing psychic link with Robin.
