The AEWA European Goose Management Platf orm provides a mechanism for sustainable use and management of goose populati ons in Europe, based on various monitoring schemes. Most European countries are involved, especially in the northern and western parts. Updated populati on status reports are published annu- ally and are used for immediate decision-making. The diff erent monitoring acti viti es provide important data for populati on modelling of the species/populati ons and thus reliable and updated informati on on populati on status, trends, and demograph- ic parameters.
