Patdu was appointed as Deputy Commissioner of the National Privacy Commission in 2016. She is a doctor, lawyer and health privacy advocate. She previously worked with the National Telehealth Center of the University of the Philippines-Manila, in developing legal frameworks for Telemedicine, use of electronic health records and other eHealth initiatives. She served as member of the Health Privacy Group of the Department of Health, notably assisting in the development of the Privacy Guidelines for the Philippine Health Information Exchange. Before working in the National Privacy Commission, she served as medico-legal consultant of Asian Hospital and Medical Center and Ospital ng Muntinlupa. Her previous areas of practice include risk management for healthcare providers, medico-legal and health policy. She is a graduate of the Philippine Science High School and finished her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of the Philippines College of Medicine under the Integrated Liberal Arts and Medicine Program. She obtained her Juris Doctor degree from the Ateneo de Manila School of Law, where she graduated with Scholastic Second Honors, and ranked 10th in her graduating class. She has contributed in publications and has been invited as resource speaker in various special topics-- Health Information Privacy, Telemedicine, Physician and Hospital Liability, and e-Health. She teaches Legal Medicine in the San Beda College of Law-Alabang, Ateneo de Manila School of Law, and Far Eastern University Institute of Law, Makati. .
