Gloucester; Tenbury, co. Worcester; and Stoake, Salop. Among the deeds is an interesting exemplification of a survey of the customs of the honour of Brecon, 1651. Manorial records include a rental (1508) and court rolls (1507, 1538, 1548) of the manor of Crasswell, co. Hereford. Poll books of Brecknockshire Parliamentary elections:- (a) 1695, a record of votes cast for Sir Rowland Gwynne and Edward Jones. (b) 1702, a record of votes cast for Sir Rowland Gwynne and John Jeffreys. Sir Rowland Gwynne was unsuccessful in both contests. An important group of assessments of taxes (window, land, horse, and house) in the hundreds of Merthyr and Devynnock, co. Brecon, between 1743 and 1787. A large number of miscellaneous documents, letters and vouchers, including papers relating to the Brecknockshire Militia (1685); the Brecknock and Abergavenny Canal (1802-14); the great forest of Brecknock (1813-20); the court of sewers for the lower level of co. Gloucester (1834-41); the Erectheum Club (1841); Brecknockshire turnpike roads (1844-5); the Brinore tram road (1845); and the Castell-du lime and coal wharf and the Brecknock Boat Company's wharf (1848-9). A STANLEY DAVIES (GLAMORGAN) 1937003 Ffynhonnell / Source A Stanley Davies Blwyddyn / Year Adroddiad Blynyddol / Annual Report 1936-37 Disgrifiad / Description Miscellaneous documents relating to the Ocean Coal Company and other industrial enterprises of David Davies of Llandinam during the last quarter of the nineteenth century. These documents for the most part relate to colliery statistics and estimates, trade returns, shares and shareholders, Parliamentary Bills, coal output, new mining projects and shipping. There are also leases of minerals from the Earl of Dunraven to David Davies, letters in the autograph of David Davies, business correspondence, railway plans, colliery plans, a will, an abstract of title, and press cuttings on the subject of mining. Some of the papers refer to the Bute, Barry and Penarth Docks, the Taff Vale Railway, the Herman Wessels v. Ocean Coal Co. case (the outbreak of fire on the ship 'Ellida'), the Harries Navigation Scheme and the Deep Navigation Company Ltd. Mynegai Y Barri.
