Next, I would like to dedicate this to the five people in my life who mean the most to me: my wife, my children and my parents. To my wife who spent countless hours wondering when I would ever get finished with school, who stood behind me the whole time and supported me through the entire journey, who took care of the house and Thomas and never once complained. You are truly more deserving of recognition than I. I love you with all of my heart, as the quote from Marcel Proust states, "Let us be grateful to people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom." You are the gardener who makes my soul happy. To my son who just wanted me to play the Wii game with him and wanted a little more attention than I was able to give, who got up early in the morning to kiss me goodbye for the day, who was asleep at night when I arrived home, and whom I gently carried to his own bed. As Eleanor Roosevelt stated, "You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing which you think you cannot do.‖ Your innocence makes it clear to me how easy it is to see the difference between right and wrong, and to stop, look fear in the face, and always do the right thing. To my daughter with whom my time has been so short, I miss deeply being able to spend time with you. ―If I had a single flower for every time I think about you, I could walk forever in my garden.‖ Claudia Ghandi And to my parents who taught me more than they realize and who I owe everything that I am today. You have always challenged me to climb the tallest mountain, to fight ―the bear,‖ and to be the best I could possibly be. Yet, at the same time I have always known if I stumbled or fell, you would be there to pick me up.
