Future of Work Remote-Friendly Hybrid Option 06-2021

Macmillan Publishers to Pilot a Hybrid & Remote-Friendly Model Macmillan Publishers announced today that the US Trade and Shared Services division will be piloting a Hybrid & Remote-Friendly work model. Under this model, employees whose work can be done remotely have the option to choose the number of days per week they work in the office, or choose to work fully remotely. They also announced that their office at 120 Broadway will officially reopen on October 18, 2021. Employees who opt to work from the office for three or more days a week will receive assigned seating. “Given that much of our business is driven by relationships and social interactions that drive creativity and collaboration, there is unquestionable value to the office being the nucleus of our business,” said Don Weisberg, CEO, Macmillan Publishers. “With that said, getting the reopening wrong will have the opposite effect. We believe that allowing employees more flexibility to choose how they return and engage with the office in the future will likely make the office more dynamic, more frequently-used, and a stronger hub for our business. Flexibility and adaptability were strengths of ours during the pandemic, and we hope continued emphasis on these aspects will aid us as we work towards returning to a new normal.” The pilot will run through June 30, 2022. #### Macmillan Publishers is a global trade book publishing company with prominent imprints around the world.
