A More and More Convenient Narita International Airport ~Domestic Flights Expanded~ Since first opening in 1978, Narita International Airport has served as the gateway to Japan’s skies with its rich international flight network, with routes going to and from Europe, the Americas, Asia, and other parts of the world. In addition, Narita Airport’s expansive network of domestic flights makes it possible to travel to all parts of Japan. As of October 30, the number of flights going to and from Sapporo and Fukuoka will be increased. This day will also mark the start of flights traveling from Narita to Asahikawa. With the beginning of this new route, the total number of Narita’s domestic flight destinations will total to 9 cities (10 routes). With upcoming plans for the expansion of additional domestic flights, you can expect Narita Airport to become even more convenient in the future. In celebration of the new Narita-Asahikawa route, as well as to promote an even more convenient Narita Airport and the surrounding area and Chiba Prefecture as a whole, a delegation headed by Chiba Prefecture Governor Kensaku Morita, representing Chiba Prefecture and the 9 municipalities around Narita Airport, will ride the first flight from Narita to Asahikawa. They will depart on October 30, and will visit Asahikawa.
