Several national level committees and experts have emphasized the necessity for the equitable development of minorities. Minorities population of the state is 43,49,824 and providing adequate resources to the minorities is important to benefit this population. Therefore, the Government proposes to introduce a Minorities Action Plan from the year 2021-22 ,which will document the allocations made for the Minorities in the budget, under different programs and schemes of all the Departments. This will help in tracking and monitoring the allocations and expenditure over the years and thereby help better outcomes. An allocation of Rs.3840.72 Crores is allotted to the Minorities Action Plan 2021-22. For Schemes benefitting Minorities Habitations, 100% of Scheme cost shall be allocated and accounted for. For General Schemes benefitting Minorities individuals or Minorities Households along with others, the Scheme cost shall be allocated and accounted for, in proportion to the Minorities beneficiaries covered. In respect of non-divisible infrastructure works, a portion of the Scheme cost as may be determined by the Government shall be deemed to have been dedicated to Minorities. The following Hostels are being run by the Minorities Welfare Department. There are 16 Hostels Functioning in the state i.e., 6 Pre-Matric Minorities Hostels and 10 Post Matric Hostels are functioning in rented buildings in the districts, for admission of students from 3rd to 10th Class & Intermediate to Ph.D. Students respectively. Further, Under PMJVK 13 hostel buildings are sanctioned of which (12) i.e., 9 Pre-Matric Hostel and 3 Post Matric Hostel buildings are constructed in the State and one Post Matric Hostel building is under construction at Chittoor districts and the functioning of these Hostels may start after sanctioning of the Posts. 28 Hostels (15 for Pre-Matric Hostels & 13 Post Matric Hostels), B.
