Introduction The NSW Government is seeking to improve the experience of recreational boating across NSW through the development of Regional Boating Plans. These plans will identify the priority projects and actions over the coming years in order to keep our waterways safe, improve accessibility and enhance the overall boating experience. The Regional Boating Plans are being developed by the Maritime Management Centre (MMC) in Transport for NSW, working closely with Roads and Maritime Services (Roads and Maritime) and consultants with expertise in coastal infrastructure. The plans will be used to inform projects to be funded out of a new boating infrastructure partnership program. The new program will replace the successful Better Boating Program and will see more funding available for boating facilities across NSW with a stronger focus on delivering projects that will provide the greatest strategic benefit to each region. The State’s major waterways have been grouped according to geography and waterway management to form eleven distinct regions as shown in Figure 1. A Regional Boating Plan will be developed for each of these regions. Figure 1 – Map of regions Each
