Resolved, That Mr. Frank Morton be Shorthand Writer to the Committee (Mr. Patterson). The Chairman read a letter, dated 22nd August, 1901, from Messrs. Butler, M'lntyre, and Butle1·, requesting to be heard before the Committee, against the Bill, on behalf of the Mount Lyell Company. (Appendix B.) Ordered, That Messrs. Butler, McIntyre, and Butler be directed to present a Petition to the House of Assembly, praying for leave to be heard before the Committee, against the Bill (Mr. Hall).
