Shogren, Director of Communications Nevada Hospital Association 775-827-0184 • [email protected] LAS VEGAS HOSPITALS RESPOND TO SHOOTING CRISIS Health care personnel and patient needs met October 6, 2017 – LAS VEGAS, NEV. – In the minutes, hours and days after the unspeakable shooting in Las Vegas, Clark County hospitals activated emergency protocols to provide exceptional care to patients. University Medical Center of Southern Nevada, Sunrise Health which includes Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center, Southern Hills Hospital & Medical Center, and MountainView Hospital, The Valley Health System which includes Desert Springs Hospital Medical Center, Spring Valley Hospital Medical Center, Henderson Hospital, Valley Hospital Medical Center, Summerlin Hospital and Medical Center and Centennial Hills Hospital Medical Center, and the Dignity Health-St. Rose Dominican System including Rose de Lima, San Martin and Siena campuses have collectively treated and transferred more than 500 patients. Several hospitals still have patients admitted, some critical. Due to the incredible response from within the community, health care professional resources were available to meet the needs of patients impacted by this event. At this time, the situation has stabilized and is now in recovery mode. However, the situation will be closely monitored to ensure that the needs of those impacted are met. “The compassionate care provided to patients, families and loved ones by the health care professionals in our Las Vegas hospitals is unsurpassed,” Bill M. Welch, President and CEO of the Nevada Hospital Association, said. “We would like to thank the physicians, nurses, EMTs and countless others that went above the call of duty to provide lifesaving measures.
