Boards today are exercising their duties with renewed vigor, knowledge, heightened awareness of regulatory obligations, and greater attention to shareholder accountability. Whether attributable to Sarbanes-Oxley, NYSE or NASDAQ requirements, a recent McKinsey Quarterly survey reveals that a significant majority of board members report more active engagement in core areas of company performance.
