Coffs Harbour Region Maritime Index Compiled by: Michael Rooksberry (2007) Sources: Coffs Harbour Advocate, North Coast Times and the Raleigh Sun newspapers [available at Coffs Harbour City Library] An index of maritime activities for the coastal waters of the NSW North Coast and other coastal areas of Australia compiled from the microfilm archives of Coffs Harbour City Library. AGNES IRVING 1901 Dec 13 pg 3 - The Raleigh Sun - Echoes column. The barque Royal Tar, of 590 tons, was recently wrecked on the New Zealand coast. AIRLIE (steamer) 1900 Feb 23 pg 4 - The Raleigh Sun - Echoes column. The steamer Airlie, which recently stranded on Chapman Island reef, off the Queensland coast, has safely arrived at Sydney. ALBANY (steamer) 1888 Dec 7 pg 3 - The North Coast Times - The engine burst on board the steamer Albany at Hainlen, killing two firemen and fatally injuring a third and scalding two others. On Tuesday night at Barrett's Ocean View Hotel, Bellinger Heads, a banquet was tendered to Captain J. H. Percival of the tug Alert.
