Danube Ports Network – DAPhNE Work Package 2 Communication Activities Activity 2.2 External Communication www.interreg-danube.eu/daphne ______________________________________________________________________________________ Container Terminal Enns (CTE) ASP1 CTE Container Terminal Enns is operating a trimodal container yard located on the border of Upper- & Lower-Austria directly at the river Danube. CTE is one of the most significant transport hubs for combined transport in Upper-Austria. The site is located directly at the TEN17 rail track, connecting central Europe with the south and eastern European regions. CTE has an own motorway exit connection close to the junction of the A1. CTE therefore is the gateway for both the Industry and trading companies in the region, and the Gateway for transit cargo with final destinations in Vienna, Graz, Linz and Salzburg. The expertise regarding logistics services and container transport will be relevant for the activities carried out in WP 4 & 5. CTE's expertise in the field of logistics and container transport will provide the riparian countries downstream from Austria with good practice examples and valuable input for how to achieve a similar level of quality services and help stimulate the downstream container traffic. CTE in its turn will have the chance to collaborate with partners from the area, get a better understanding of the issues the Mid & Lower Danube countries are facing and benefit from the common guidelines and strategies that cover topics dealing with eco-improvements & new market opportunities for the Danube transport.
