GREAT HUCKLOW, GRINDLOW, WINDMILL, LITTLE HUCKLOW AND COPLOWDALE PARISH COUNCIL STAY ALERT – CONTROL THE VIRUS – SAVE LIVES Since the recent changes to the Lockdown an increasing number of visitors are coming to our area. Please do continue to follow the government’s advice in order to keep all our communities safe. Please see our dedicated web page “Coronavirus (Covid 19)” under the “Community Section” of our website which is continually updated and you can find on the following link: - https://www.hucklow-pc.gov.uk/coronavirus-covid-19-information.html GRINDLOW – SEVERN TRENT TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE Severn Trent Water have now made two attempts to fix the water leak in the road outside Greenacre cottage without success. We don’t yet know when they will be back to try again but this will undoubtedly require a further road closure when it happens. MAIN ROAD FOOLOW - DERBYSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE From the 9th July 2020 to 10th July 2020 at Spread Eagle House (i.e. the eastern end of the village) and 70 metres east from junction with Bradshaw Lane. To facilitate carriageway repairs from a burst water pipe. ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: B6049, A623, Bakewell Road, Housley Road, Great Hucklow and vice versa. Access will be maintained, whenever reasonably possible, on the affected length of road. GARDEN WASTE COLLECTIONS - DERBYSHIRE DALES DISTRICT COUNCIL Garden waste collections have now recommenced. DDDC’s new Emergency Committee met for the first time on 21 May, agreeing to put in place measures to enable garden waste collections to re-start in the district from June 1st. The District Council agreed to share the costs with the contractor (Serco) of extra vehicles and staff needed to restart the collections. To ensure that rounds are completed and some households don't miss out, no additional garden waste will be taken over and above the usual bin-load. No more than five sacks will be taken in a single collection from households that use compostable sacks rather than bins. RECYCLING CENTRES - DERBYSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL Recycling Centres have now reopened with restrictions but residents should only visit to take waste that cannot be safely stored at home. More information can be found on the following link: - https://www.derbyshire.gov.uk/council/news-events/news-updates/news/recycling-centres-to- open-for-waste-that-cannot-be-stored-safely-at-home.aspx CAR PARKING CHARGES - DERBYSHIRE DALES DISTRICT COUNCIL Charges have now been reintroduced in DDDC pay and display car parks following the Government’s decision to relax coronavirus travel restrictions. Sitting at the heart of the nation and with so many communities on our doorstep, it remains important that people do not rush back to provide our national park with the space and time to offer a warm welcome when all our visitor and hospitality facilities can open once again. I ask those who do choose to explore our landscapes – perhaps for the first time – to do so with respect. For the people and wildlife that call it home and for each other as we continue to reduce the spread of the virus” To read more follow the link: - https://www.peakdistrict.gov.uk/learning-about/news/current-news/coronavirus-covid-19- update#29may HOPE VALLEY SEASONAL BUS SERVICE - PDNPA A seasonal bus service in the Hope Valley has been cancelled for 2020 due to the Covid-19 crisis.
