Tilghman CORPORATE ADVISORY COUNCIL Ken Bouyer, EY Rosanna Durruthy, LinkedIn Erika Coleman, Goldman Sachs Charley Gray, Egon Zehnder HONOREE Ken is the EY Americas Director of Inclusiveness Recruiting. In this role, he is responsible for developing and implementing the global EY organization’s recruiting strategy to build and attract diverse and inclusive talent pools for member firms in the Americas. KEN Americas Director BOUYER of Inclusiveness Recruiting, EY Ken has served in a variety of roles since joining the Assurance practice of Ernst & Young LLP in 1990. Prior to his current role, Ken was a Director in the firm’s Advisory Services practice, supporting various global internal audit clients. He continues to serve the firm’s clients in Advisory Services today. Ken is a member of the Executive Leadership Council. He serves on the Board of Trustees for his alma mater, Manhattan College and is a member of the Audit Committee. In addition, he is on North Carolina A&T’s Dean’s Advisory Council and Arizona State University’s Accounting Advisory Board. He is a current Corporate Advisory Board Member of the National Association of Black Accountants, Association of Latino Professionals for America and ASCEND (Pan-Asian organization for business professionals in North America). Moreover, Ken is the past Chair and current member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ (AICPA) National Commission on Diversity & Inclusion. Ken has a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Manhattan College in Riverdale, New York. He is a Certified Internal Auditor and member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Ken currently resides in New Jersey with his wife, Shorn, and their daughter, Kelsie. HONOREE Lisa Osborne Ross serves as Edelman’s U.S. Chief Executive Officer. Prior to this role, Lisa served as U.S. Chief Operating Officer, where she oversaw day-to-day operations and strategy for the U.S. region and led Edelman’s Washington D.C. office as President where she was responsible for overseeing the firm’s U.S. operations and providing strategic oversight to its Washington D.C. office. LISA U.S. Chief ROSS Executive Officer, Edelman She is known as an in-demand counselor to senior executives at Fortune 500, higher education, and government institutions. Prior to Edelman, Lisa served as Managing Director of APCO Worldwide’s flagship office for over two years, arriving there after a 15-year career at Ogilvy Public Relations. Over her tenure at Ogilvy, she held several titles, including Founder of the Multicultural Practice, Head of the Public Advocacy Group and Practice, and Head of the Public Affairs Division. Prior to public relations, Lisa served in the first two terms of the Clinton Administration, specializing in policy development and issues management. During this time, she was communications director for the Department of Labor’s effort to create and promote high- performance workplaces, deputy director of the bipartisan Federal Glass Ceiling Commission and chief of staff of the White House Office of Women’s Initiatives and Outreach. Lisa devotes considerable amounts of time to her philanthropic endeavors, particularly her efforts to build a better Washington and to empower women. She has served on numerous school boards and commissions. She is a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. Lisa has received several awards including PRWeek Agency Professional of the Year (2021), PRWeek Hall of Femme & National Capital Area Public Relations Hall of Fame (2020). ALUMNI HONOREE Dr. Garland Castañeda was born in Modesto, California. He grew up playing soccer and the saxophone and painted houses with his father during the summer. At age 16, he was hospitalized twice for a large blood clot in his leg. The experience was jarring and painful but inspired him to pursue a career in medicine. GARLAND LEDA Cohort 2 CASTAÑEDA Hospitalist, Alameda Inpatient Medical Inc. As a member of LEDA’s second Cohort, he got a chance to walk the halls of elite colleges and soak in the Aspects of Leadership curriculum. LEDA inspired him to dream big and he enrolled at Princeton the following year. After four tough but rewarding years, he graduated from Princeton University with a degree in molecular biology and minors in neuroscience and environmental studies. He attended medical school at the University of Colorado. While there, he joined and eventually became co-president of the student-run nonprofit, Comunidades Unidas Peru. He spent two summers helping CU Peru further its goal of training community health workers (promotores) in the Peruvian Amazon. He graduated in 2015 with a certificate from the Global Health program. Highland Hospital in Oakland put him through the trials of an internal medicine residency. He got the chance to learn from both doctors and patients who represented the Bay Area’s rich diversity. He also published three journal articles including studies on racial disparities in colon cancer and ulcerative colitis. He has worked at Alameda Hospital since 2018 as a hospitalist. Over the past year, he has spent most of his time running the hospital’s COVID team and managing the ebb and flow of COVID-19 patients. He encourages everyone to get their vaccine as soon as possible. When he is not in the hospital, he is most often found at his home in Oakland with his wife, Jackie, and rescue dogs, Xena and Chloe. SPECIAL GUEST Sade Baderinwa is an anchor of WABC- TV’s top-rated Eyewitness News at 5:00 and 11:00. She joined the Eyewitness News team in 2003 as a reporter and anchor of Eyewitness News at Noon. SADE Anchor BADERINWA WABC-TV Sade came to Channel 7 from Baltimore’s WBAL-TV, where she anchored the morning and noon newscasts and hosted a weekly community affairs show. Earlier in her career, she was a reporter for WSLS in Roanoke, Virginia; a reporter trainee at WUSA-TV in Washington, D.C.; and a production assistant for ABC News’ This Week with David Brinkley, Nightline, World News Tonight, and ABC News NewsOne. Sade is a big believer in giving back to her community. She has worked with numerous Tri- State area organizations, community leaders and students. After being struck by a hit and run driver while covering a story for Eyewitness News, Sade championed efforts to deal with the growing problem of hit and run accidents. For her efforts, she was recognized with the NJ Governor’s Representative Award for Traffic Safety. She has also created and developed a successful mentoring program called “Get ‘Reel’ With Your Dreams: The Inside Track.” It exposes high school students from New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut to top professionals in film and television. Her partners in this initiative include The Walt Disney Company, WABC-TV, Lincoln Center Institute, and New York Women in Film and Television. Sade is a native of Baltimore and a graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park.
