HBES 2009 0 WELCOME TO HBES 2009 __________________________________________________________________________________ Dear Colleagues, Welcome to the 21st Annual Meeting of the Human Behavior and Evolution Society, and to California State University at Fullerton (CSUF). We are honored to host this year’s meeting which falls on the 200th anniversary of Darwin's birth and the 150th anniversary of the publication of The Origin of Species. To mark this occasion, James Moore will be speaking on Darwin’s Sacred Cause and the Problem of Slavery at this year’s banquet. We are excited about this year’s lineup of keynote and plenary speakers and the quality of the over 300 papers and posters that will be presented. On behalf of the host committee and CSUF, I thank you for attending and hope you enjoy the presentations and this opportunity to socialize and exchange ideas with your colleagues. John Q.
