Neighbourhood Plan – Update By taking part in the creation of the Stoke upon Tern Neighbourhood Plan you will have a say in the future direction and location of development in the Parish. Inside this Newsletter is a Housing Needs Survey, the result of which will help us to determine future housing need in the Parish. This will be followed by a bring and share lunch outside if the weather is fine; otherwise this will be held in the church. All are welcome, come along and share this special event with us. We offer the opportunity to learn, develop and pass on new skills, to belong to something special, make new friends, work as a team and have fun. Forthcoming Events: 7th June: Jewellery Workshop (Alison Fellows) 5th July: Your Wonderful Brain, Part 2, Memory (Dr Peter Chevins) 2nd August: Summer Outing 6th September: Buttercross Foods (Martyn Rowney) This Month's Recipe - Self Saucing Chocolate Pudding Ingredients: 125g plain flour 125mls skimmed milk 2 teaspoons baking powder zest of 1 orange 50g caster sugar boiling water 3 tablespoons cocoa 40g butter 75g light muscovado sugar 1 egg Put flour, orange zest, baking powder, sugar and 2 teaspoons cocoa into a bowl. Mix together the milk, butter and egg, and gradually add to the flour mixture. Mix until smooth and then pour into and ovenproof dish. Cover with clingfilm and chill for 2 hours. In a separate bowl, mix together the muscovado sugar and the remaining cocoa. Sprinkle over the top of the pudding. Pour 200mls boiling water over the pudding and bake in the oven at 180C for 20mins, or until the sponge is springy and the sauce is bubbling. Serve immediately with cream or custard. Wistanswick Open Gardens: On Sunday June 12th, 5 members of Wistanswick WI are opening their gardens to the public from 2 til 5pm. An entry ticket to all five gardens can be bought at the Institute, Chapel Bank for £5 and refreshments will also be available. The event will support the Alzheimer’s Society, and everybody is welcome. 5 Walking Group The Walking Group meets on the third Sunday of the month at 11am at the Red Lion pub (& often returns there for refreshment!); Our next walk will be on June 19th, weather permitting. The Tern-Stylers Craft Group Come and join the Tern-Stylers. We are all craft enthusiasts, be it knitting, crochet, cross stitch, quilting, etc. etc. Dig out that project hidden at the back of your cupboard and join us for the inspiration to complete it. Have some “me” time and meet like-minded people for friendship and to share ideas and information, possibly learn a new skill. We meet every 2nd and 4th Thursday, 10am - 12 noon at the Wistanswick Institute Entry £2 each & taking turns to provide cakes! The survey is for people who live in the parish of Stoke upon Tern. It is also available to download at: www.hugofox.com/community/stoke-upon-tern-parish-council- 10148 or www.stokeupontern.info The purpose of the survey is to ascertain what type of housing local people need now and for the period of our Neighbourhood Plan, 2017 - 2030. This is an opportunity for you to have your say and participate. We need to collect the relevant facts and evidence within the community and value your time and input. We’re asking you to please put a tick √ in each box that matches your requirements.
