Cumulative Index, Volumes 31-42 (1946-1957) BULLETIN of the American College of Surgeons 40 East Erie Street, Chicago 11, Illinois Index to Bulletin, Volumes 31 through 42 THIS CUMULATIVE INDEX to the American College of Surgeons' bi- monthly BULLETIN begins with the year 1946 and ends with 1957. It is available upon request. Requests are to be addressed to the editor. By author and subject, it is the second cumulative index to be com- piled. The first was published in the Jurie, 1946 BULLETIN ( vol. 31, no. 2) and entitled "Index to the Publications of the American College of Surgeons Since Its Founding, 1913-1945." A limited number of reprints of this first index is still available. The user should note that, inasmuch as the chief aim of the BULLE- TIN is the dissemination of news and information about the College to its Fellows, the subject "American College of Surgeons" in the present index takes in only items concerned with College history and admin- istration per se. Other College activities are listed by name, followed by the letters "A.C.S.," i.e., "Scholarships, A.C.S.," "Committees, A.C.S.," and so forth. The BULLETIN with the July-August, 1952 issue became a bimonthly publication. Up to that time it had been published quarterly. It is distributed free of charge only to Fellows, members of the Candidate Group and hospitals accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals. The BULLETIN is distributed only by the College. It cannot be pro- cured through magazine agencies; government bureaus or any other group. Inquiries about the BULLETIN and the cumulative index are to be addressed as follows: Editor, BULLETIN, American College of Surgeons, 40 East Erie Street, Chicago 11, Illinois.
