INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON THE QUESTION OF JERUSALEM “Annexation in Practice – Palestinian Youth in Jerusalem” Part 2 Convened by the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People (CEIRPP), co-organized with the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Bio Notes of Panellists Fadi Hidmi is the Minister of Jerusalem Affairs of the State of Palestine. He was previously the General Director of the Jerusalem Chamber of Commerce and Investment. He has been repeatedly detained by Israeli authorities because of his official activities. Micha Kurz is a community organizer from Jerusalem where he was active in youth movements. He co-founded “Breaking the Silence”, an organization of former Israeli soldiers speaking out about their service in the Occupied Palestinian Territory and denouncing the violations of the Israeli military. He later co-founded “Grassroots Jerusalem”, a platform for Palestinian grassroots mobilization and networking with the goal of contributing to the creation and implementation of a Palestinian-led long-term development strategy. Reem Natsheh is the fieldwork coordinator in the advocacy unit of the Women’s Centre for Legal Aid and Counselling (WCLAC) in Jerusalem, focusing on highlighting human rights and humanitarian law violations committed by Israel against Palestinian women and girls and on making their voices heard by the international community. Previously, she worked with the Lutheran World Federation as the human rights project coordinator and on the empowerment of youth from East Jerusalem and the West Bank. She currently also serves as a board member of directors of the Jerusalem Centre for Legal Aid and Human Rights (JLAC). Rochelle Watson is the national organizer and lead of campaigns for “Friends of Sabeel North America (FOSNA)” supporting Sabeel, an ecumenical movement founded by Palestinian Christians in the Holy Land. In her 20 years of experience as a community organizer, she was a project manager for Art Forces, a mural-based social change organization based in San Francisco, and co-founded the Olympia Rafah Sister City Project after her friend, Rachel Corrie, was killed in Gaza by Israeli security forces in 2003 while protecting a Palestinian home facing demolition. * * * .
