NFT Report 2018

NON FUNGIBLE TOKENS YEARLY REPORT 2018 © All Rights Reserved FOREWORDS For this first report, we would like to express our sincerest thank you to NFT.NYC for their proposition to participate in this major event, as well as for their help in delivering this report. We would also like to thank CoinGecko who trusted us and gave us the idea to initiate this report, which is the little brother of CoinGecko’s quarterly cryptocurrency report, for which we have the honor to contribute to. Our goal with this annual report is primarily to inform the mainstream about the growth of this market, driven by non-fungible tokens. We firmly believe that the advent of this new typology of assets will pave the way for real, healthy, viable, and long-term use of the Blockchain, far from speculative drift. Finally, we would like to thank our entire community and our faithful members who have provided us with valuable advice and feedback throughout the development of this report and our platform. We hope this first edition will give you a fresh look at this ecosystem and the booming NFT economy. Fungible [fuhn-juh-buh l] – adjective (especially of goods) being of such nature or kind as to be freely exchangeable or replaceable, in whole or in part, for another of like nature or kind. Source: dictionary.com FUNGIBLE Non-fungible tokens (or NFTs) are a new class of digital assets stored and handled on a blockchain. These assets are Bitcoin ERC-20 token Cash characterized as unique, irreplaceable and non-interchangeable. Non-fungible tokens are not cryptocurrencies. They are not traded on exchanges like any other tokens. They are not built on ERC-721 token RPG character Art the same technical standards (ERC-721 on Ethereum). NON-FUNGIBLE 5 * Slide initially published in 2018 Q4 CoinGecko Report NFTS ARE THE FUTURE OF BLOCKCHAIN Blockchain technology was originally designed to allow censorship-resistant financial transactions, without relying on traditional financial institutions. Cryptocurrencies and more generally, the blockchain, have allowed the emergence of incredible projects but, have also generated large drifts including the speculative bubble in 2017 / early 2018. The appearance of NFTs and the use cases that they make possible on Blockchains today, open the doors to a whole new world of possibilities: Collectables (cards, objects, ...) Gaming (RPG, platform games, ...), digital art, certifications ... We believe that a new era of mass adoption will rise from NFTs. BITCOIN (BTC) ETHEREUM (ETH) The original non-fungible token, “colored coins”, may be used to represent different The first non-fungible token proposal on Ethereum is based on the initial draft by asset classes. The first non-fungible token experiments used CounterParty’s Dieter Shirley of the CryptoKitties team and finalized by lead author William infrastructure, RarePepe and Spells of Genesis. CounterParty provides the Entriken and a large community of supporters. ERC721 has been through rigorous infrastructure to build and deploy fungible or non-fungible assets on the Bitcoin testing by hundreds of projects, ran through an official bug bounty, and is largely network as well as the wallets and blockchain explorers for users to view and considered THE non-fungible token. interact with their assets. High transaction fees and slower network confirmations played a major role in restricting the non-fungible asset and blockchain gaming use- case presented by NFTs. TRON (TRX) Touting similar advatages as EOS, Tron’s NFT token has seen good support from publishers such as Blockchain Cuties, and EverDragons. Tron is attracting developers of the blockchain gaming industry and coining the term “Dgaming” on the Tron EOS (EOS) blockchain. Design and development led by the team at Unico Global, “dGoods”, the non- fungible standard for EOS, promises the same incredible throughput and small transaction fees of more centralized blockchain solutions. EOSKnights claims to attract an incredibly high user base and is likely largely due to the improved user NEO (NEO) experience of transaction speed and cost. Led by the team at HashPuppies, NEP-11 puts non-fungible assets on the NEO blockchain. NEP-11 has been changed to the “accepted” state as of October 2018 and is the defacto standard of NFT on NEO. STELLAR (XLM) Non-fungible tokens on the Stellar blockchain are possible but come with their NEM (XEM) drawbacks. Although not officially supported as a standard, NFTs may be created by @aleixmorgadas on Github has been working on "nem2-nonfungble-asset" since backpacking on Stellar’s accounts feature. Every asset should become its own May 2018, and some projects have started working with it. NEM utilizes an “account”, or individual fungible token with a supply of one. This requires the experimental "proof-of-importance" consensus algorithm to achieve account to conform to the minimum eligibility criteria and cannot be traded on decentralization. Like proof-of-stake, POI provides high transaction throughput over Stellar’s native DEX platforms. the NEM blockchain. 8 2018 GLOBAL REVIEW January February March April May June July August September October November December $28MM USD NonFungible.com ERC721 Bug ERC721x NonFungible William Shatner prefers ERC 721 ERC 998 Mokens on 34k $LAND launches market Bounty by (Loom Alliance non-fungible tokens (final) (draft) (ERC998) minted history! 0xcert Network) formed https://bit.ly/2sQA9zB EVENTS RareBits RareBits raises OpenSea NonFungible Another $6MM ERC 1155 NIFTY.gg launches $6MM Series A raises $2MM Summit in USD on 10k (draft) Hong Kong marketplace round Seed round SanFrancisco $LAND minted 34 35 31 32 27 24 22 21 21 NEW NFT 14 14 16 CONTRACTS • OpenSea • Axie Infinity •Chibi Fighters • Super Rare • Hi Precious • Crypto Voxels • Gods Unchained • Mokens • My Crypto • Chain Breakers • Cubegon • Coingecko • CryptoCelebrities • CryptoCountries •ETH.Town • Known Origin • Digital Art Chain • Doperaider • Ether Kingdom • Coin.Kred Heroes • Kudos Token • Dragonereum Xmas2018 NFT • Ether Tulips • Mythereum •Ethmoji • Crypto Space • Dyversear • 0xuniverse • Starcards • MLB Crypto • Zoma Series • Crypto Derby • Crypto Kaiju • FOAM Signal • Crypto Fighters • RareBits •SU squares Commander • MegaCryptoPolis • CryptoStrikers • Codex Record Baseball Alpha • Crypto Beasties • Etherbots • Crypto All Stars •Hyper Dragons • Arcona • Crypto Ink • Crypto Fights • Nifties • Etherdragons • Hash Kings • Wyvern •EtherGoo • Johorionyoung • Exoplanets • Cryptotoons • Zombie • Planet Crypto NEW PROJECTS Exchange •Blockchain Cuties • Cryptorome • Everdragons Battleground • Crypto Motors ON MAINNET • CryptoJingles • Accedition • Hedgie • Chain Monsters Challenge Loot • Coinbase Wallet • Cryptosport (alto.io) • Coinbase • Rare Digital Art Trophies Network 9 NON FUNGIBLE TOKENS MARKET CHARTS AND TRENDS 10 TRANSACTION VOLUME: ETH vs. NFTs 1 400 000 70000 1 200 000 60000 1 000 000 50000 NFT NFT TRANSACTIONS 800 000 40000 ETHEREUM TRANSACTIONS ETHEREUM 600 000 30000 400 000 20000 200 000 10000 0 0 01/01/2018 01/02/2018 01/03/2018 01/04/2018 01/05/2018 01/06/2018 01/07/2018 01/08/2018 01/09/2018 01/10/2018 01/11/2018 01/12/2018 Daily volume of transactions tracked on Ethereum blockchain Linear trend of transaction volume on Ethereum blockchain 11 Volume of NFT transactions Linear trend of NFT transactions volume ACTIVE ADDRESSES: ETH vs. NFTs 7500 1 000 000 6000 PROJECTS ON NFT ADDRESSES ACTIVE 800 000 4500 600 000 400 000 3000 ACTIVE ADDRESSES ON ETHEREUM BLOCKCHAIN ON ETHEREUM ADDRESSES ACTIVE 200 000 1500 0 0 01/01/2018 01/02/2018 01/03/2018 01/04/2018 01/05/2018 01/06/2018 01/07/2018 01/08/2018 01/09/2018 01/10/2018 01/11/2018 01/12/2018 Daily active addresses on Ethereum blockchain Linear trend of daily active addresses on Ethereum blockchain 12 Daily active addresses interacting with NFTs Linear trend of daily active addresses interacting with NFTs TRANSACTIONS VOLUME DISTRIBUTION PROJECTS TRANSACTIONS PROJECTS TRANSACTIONS PROJECTS TRANSACTIONS #1 CryptoKitties 4 639 422 #18 Ether Dungeon 52 166 #35 CryptoPepe 8 004 #2 Etheremon 476 647 #19 Cryptobots 49 975 #36 Crypto All Stars 7 858 #3 EtherGoo 337 214 #20 Fishbank 47 781 #37 Crypto Strikers 6 255 #4 Blockchain Cuties 168 445 #21 Staryfox 36 739 #38 Auctionity 6 112 #5 ETH.Town 155 982 #22 Cryptocelebrities 33 740 #39 Crypto Flowers 5 750 #6 Gods Unchained 139 668 #23 OpenSea 30 638 #40 D World 5 594 #7 0x Universe 118 738 #24 Panda Earth 29 760 #41 0xCert KYC
