Originally broadcast to cinemas in May 2017 as part of National Theatre Live, the production is still available in selected cinemas across the UK and internationally. In the early hours of the morning on the campus of an American college, Martha (Imelda Staunton, Gypsy, Sweeney Todd) much to her husband George’s (Conleth Hill, Game of Thrones, The Cherry Orchard) displeasure, has invited the new professor Nick (Luke Treadaway, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, A Street Cat Named Bob) and his wife Honey (Imogen Poots, The Look of Love, 28 Weeks Later) to their home for some after-party drinks. As the alcohol flows and dawn approaches, the young couple are drawn into George and Martha’s toxic games until the evening reaches its climax in a moment of devastating truth-telling. Launched in 2009, National Theatre Live broadcasts have been seen by an audience of over 6.5 million people at 2500 venues in 60 countries.
