There have been three winning seas<;:ms in the first four including an 8-3 campaign in 1999, SDSU's most victories since 1979. John Stiegelmeier says "I'm excited just like I am for every· season." "I continue to be amazed by the quality of the individuals that I am blessed to work with. From top to bottom, we have great people in our program. I couldn't ask for a better staff or better players. SDSU football is full of great people." Among the people Coach Stig is referring to are five assistant coaches, the graduate assistant coaches and 102 players. The players come from 11 different states and have worked hard to fulfill the philosophy of the program. So what about 2001 ? "It'll be a challenge," Stiegelmeier says. "Our schedule will be the toughest the Jacks have faced since I have been a coach here." That means since 1988. "But we have a great class of seniors. They are a great group of student athletes, and have �ade a tremendous impact on the SOSU community." Number-wise, that means 19 players suiting up for their Personal Information final season with the Jackrabbits.
