On January 18, 2011, the artists unveiled at The White House their most historical painting, “The Eight U.S. Presidents and The Great Wall” to U.S. President Barack Obama, as a national gift to His Excellency Hu Jintao, the President of China, on the occasion of the State visit to The White House. This painting was the first time in the artists’ career that recognizable figures appear in their art. In April of 2012, The Zhou Brothers opened their show, “Time: Portrait of History at the Center,” to great acclaim. The Center is home to both National and Annual exhibits. The Annual “Centerline” show exhibits the work of all the artists at the Center, and is a multi-disciplinary show of printmakers, photographers, digital artists, sculptors and visual artists. “The National Wet Paint MFA Biennial Exhibition” is an outlook and an overview of top MFA painting programs in the United States. “Wet Paint” refers to the idea that this is a fresh group of artists. They are MFA (Masters of Fine Arts degree) candidates and recent MFA recipients, working primarily in the medium of painting. Sergio Gomez, MFA, Director of Exhibits at The Zhou B Art Center, created this show to give emerging artists the opportunity to show in a world-class gallery. (MORE) 10 Years of Art Innovation THE ZHOU B ART CENTER “10 YEARS OF ART INNOVATION” - - ADD THREE The National Self Portrait Show, in its final year at the Zhou B Art Center, has let artists of a variety of mediums look within to express their own image. Chicago Coalition for the Homeless, the Vee Foundation, and Meals on Wheels are a few of the charities who have benefitted from fundraising events held at the Zhou B Art Center.
