That’s why we help Tchildren who’ve been abused to rebuild their lives; we protect those at risk and find the best ways of preventing abuse from happening. But we would simply not be able to do this without our supporters like you, helping us to change young lives. In 2017/18 our volunteers and staff delivered Speak out. Stay safe assemblies and workshops in 162 schools and spoke to 35,335 children in Cheshire about their right to be happy and safe. In 2017/18 our Childline volunteers delivered almost 280,000 counselling sessions to children and young people across the UK on the phone and online. Based on the population of Cheshire we can estimate that our volunteers delivered around 4,200 counselling sessions to children living in Cheshire last year. Any child or young person in need of advice and support can contact Childline on 0800 1111. In 2017/18 the NSPCC helpline responded to 141 calls and emails from Cheshire about advice on keeping children safe and 982 referrals were made from the helpline to local agencies such as the police and children’s services. If you have concerns about a child, our Helpline is open 24/7 on 0808 8005000.
