Greg: SUMMER STAFF CHANGES As announced previously, parochial vicar Father Athanasius Kikoba is moving on to Queen of Apostles Par- ish in San Jose, where he is set to begin his new ministry on July1. Our new parochial vicar will be Father Mendie Nguyen, who most recently served as parochial vicar at St. Simon Parish in Los Altos. Some of you will get to meet Fr. Mendie next Sunday. A short biography of Fr. Mendie will appear in the bulletin soon. Father Edsil Ortiz, parochial vicar with special responsibility for pastoral ministry at Kaiser Hospital, is retir- ing for reasons of health and will be returning to the Philippines at the end of the month. A replacement for Father Edsil will be arriving later this summer. As of July 1, Rev. Anthony Nguyen will be joining us on a temporary basis to make sure that the ministry at the hospital is uninterrupted and we have a sufficient number of priests available to serve our parish community. Please take some time to thank Fr. Edsil for sharing his gifts with us for the last two years. We are also grateful to Bishop Cantu for taking care of our needs here at St Joseph of Cupertino. Since Tam Tran, our Director of Catechetical Ministry, will be teaching at Presentation High School in the fall, we are currently searching for a new director. If you know of a qualified candidate for this position, please encourage that person to contact me as soon as possible. A full job description can be found on the di- ocesan website, DSJ.org, under the heading of Careers. MOST REV.
