Widespread. Notes Shrub to 1.2 m tall. Stems hairy with brown and also silvery, grey, or blackish hairs. Leaves alternating up the stems, 3-11 cm long, 1.2-6 mm wide, flat or weakly arched on each side of the shallowly recessed midrib, margins sometimes very slightly scalloped, curved to rolled down, tips rounded to blunt, rarely pointed, mucro short, and sometimes curved; upper surface green, dull to almost glossy, hairless, smooth or with slightly sunken veins; lower surface with sparse white or brown appressed hairs, midrib hairs fairly sparse, dark brown, venation faint. Calyx mostly 5-6.5 mm long. Standard petal 7-10 mm long, 7-10 mm wide. Flowers pea shaped, with 5 petals, 2 joined together to form the keel, pink or blue to mauve, the standard petal with a greenish yellow to cream spot. The outside of the pod hairless. Flowers mostly in pairs at the base of the upper leaves. Flowers Winter to Spring.
