Rancho Naturalista Checklist Tayutic & Turrialba area Location Code: [R] Rancho Naturalista: 2300-3500 ft. ​ ​ [T] Tuis River Valley/Cerro Silencio Base/La Mina: 3000-4500 ft. ​ ​ [C] CATIE /Casa Turire / Turrialba: 1900-2300 ft. ​ ​ Abundance Code: 1 = Should be seen daily. 2 = Somewhat less common, but should still be seen. 3 = Requires some effort, fairly uncommon or seasonal. 4 = Uncommon or of erratic occurrence. Generally tricky to find. 5 = Rare, seen annually, but few records per year. You’ll need some luck! ------ h = Heard considerably more often than seen. w = Winter Migrants from North America, mainly Sept-May. b = Breeding Migrants from South America, mainly March-Sept. p = Passage Migrants, mainly from March-May and Sept-Nov. d = Mainly in dry season, Dec-March. r = Mainly in rainy season, April-Sept.
