From the outset of another year of rugby, we acknowledge and thank the advertisers that contribute to this annual publication with their ongoing support. Club Rugby continues with the same format as last year. There will be ten teams in the Senior A competition for the first time in many years with all four Peninsula clubs in the mix. Eight teams will compete in the Senior B competition. The new Paeroa Rugby and Sports club takes the field for the first time in competition this year following the amalgamation of Paeroa Old Boys and Paeroa West late last year. The Club Finals will be held at Rhodes Park, Thames on July 28 2018. The Secondary School Finals will be held in Paeroa in mid August while the Youth Management Board has opted to go back to a Finals Day which will be held in Whitianga Matthew Bartleet and co. are back for a second term in charge of the Heartland Team. Their competition kicks off with a home game against West Coast and we wish them all the best CEO Edmond Leahy and his team continue to look after the daily operations of the Union while Graham Hallet is Chairman of the Board of Management.
