112th ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING OF THE PAPATOETOE CRICKET CLUB Held on the 24th July 2018 at 6pm at the Papatoetoe Sports Centre. President, Nigel Hurst officially opened the AGM at 6.06pm and welcomed everyone especially Auckland Cricket Association’s (ACA) Chief Executive Officer, Iain Laxon as well as all present Life Members. Nigel also made a special mention of Simon Poole and Megan Spiers for all their services to the club over the years. Present: Garry Wood, Peter Boyd, Neil Ronaldson, Rodney Price, Gary Troup, Iain Laxon, Nigel Hurst, Regina Lilii, Tessa Hickson, David Price, Simon Poole, Megan Spiers, Dennis Currie, Bhupinder Singh. 1. Apologies Peter Ambler, Noel Burnside, Guy Ronaldson, Ian Plummer, Roger Harris, Brett Plummer, Jerry Green, Vijay Soma. David Price moved apologies to be accepted. Seconded Gary Troup. Carried. Passed. 2. Obituaries David Price mentioned the passing of honorary Vice President, L McEntee. 3. Confirmation of Minutes from 111th Annual General Meeting Peter Boyd moved that the minutes be accepted as a fair and accurate record. Seconded Neil Ronaldson. Carried. 4. Matters Arising from Minutes: No matters arising from 111th Annual General Meeting minutes. 5. Correspondence: a. Garry wood shared correspondence with ACA around: i. Health and Safety incident reporting that the club needs to carry out including activity in the indoor centre ii. Child and Vulnerable Persons Protection Act – which involves providing coaching qualifications and education to all coaches and registering all coaches and umpires with New Zealand Cricket iii. Pushing to get Coach Developers qualified through ACA iv. Software program for club management – likely to go with CricHQ v. Good Sports Initiative vi. Nigel Hurst queried whether police vetting will also be carried out on all coaches/umpires. Garry Wood confirmed it is compulsory. David Price moved all correspondence to be accepted. Seconded Gary Troup. Carried. 6. ACA Report Iain Laxon Iain Laxon briefly reported on ACA: a. Successful season for the Auckland Hearts and Aces with both winning one day titles.
