MITA is designed to encourage the research community of Asia-Paci c region to share the invaluable knowledge and experiences in the new media technologies and their applications. Since the beginning of 21st century, the demand of IT in this area has been rapidly growing and especially, this region has been a test bed of mobile technology and frontrunner of many fascinating multimedia technology such as mobile contents creation, fusion technology, internet technology and on-line games. The rst event in India convinced the main host, Korea Multimedia Society (KMMS) that international collaboration through MITA is valuable and mutually bene cial if it is a joint conference format co-hosted by two main contributing countries. During 2004 and 2005, KMMS carefully built up the international relationships with the research associations of other coun- tries, the other international conferences and workshops such as EALPIT, ICAT, and HEALTHCOM and nally decides that KMMS mainly hosts MITA with other country’s co-hosting research group of similar interests. In 2006, MITA2006 was held at Dalian, China co-hosted with Dalian University of Light Industries and witnessed that 250 participants from 10 countries actively shared their invaluable experiences in multimedia researches. In 2007, MITA was held in Manila, Philippines co-hosted by Colombo Plan Staff College of Technical Education (CPSC) and 120 participants from 8 countries enjoyed the research festival. In 2008, MITA2008 was held at Rajamangala University of Technology at Lanna, Chiang Mai, Thailand during July 3 ~ 5. In 2009, MITA2009 was held at Osaka Prefecture University at Osaka and 114 participants from 9 countries including Australia, Nepal, India, Pakistan, Philippines, Thailand, France, Japan and Korea. Last year, MITA2012 was held at China National Convention Center and 134participants from 7 countries, during July 4~6. This year, MITA2013 is scheduled to Nikko Bali Resort ,Bali, Indonesia, during July 2~6 and expected participants will be more than 112 from Sweden, England, Portugal, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Vietnam, Laos, Mongolia, Indonesia and Korea. MITA covers many topics related to multimedia researches but topics may be classi ed into two groups of nine concentra- tions as following: Group 1: Basic Multimedia Infra • Concentrated on researches related to multimedia networks, communications and security problems in multime- dia environments • Concentrated on researches related to Digital Image, Video, and Sound Processing • Concentrated on researches related to Multimedia Information Systems and Embedded Systems Group 2: Creative Applications of Multimedia Technology • Concentrated on researches related to e-learning and Game-based learning • Concentrated on researches related to Bioinformatics and Biomedical applications • Concentrated on researches related to Internet Technologies and Multimedia Databases • Concentrated on researches related to Virtual Reality, Computer Graphics, Animation, Computer Games and HCI • Concentrated on researches related to Ubiquitous Computing and Telematics • Concentrated on researches related to Media Arts, Digital Multimedia Contents and Digital Multimedia Broad- casting The 9th International Conference on 4 Multimedia Information Technology and Applications The 9th International Conference on Multimedia Information Technology and Applications Welcome Message from Conference General Chair (Korea) Dear Respected Scholars and Professionals, Welcome to MITA2013!
