The Sigrid Rausing Trust is a British grant fund founded in 1995 by Sigrid Rausing to support human rights around the world. Since then, the Foundation has given about 299 million euros to human rights organizations around the world. Until 2010, the Trust had an open application system. They agreed, however, that only a small proportion of applications through the system were related to human rights. Of these, they end up funding only a small fraction. They therefore decided not to accept the unsolicited applications any longer. Instead, they identify potential new grantees based on recommendations and fieldwork.
