Additional Info OFFICIAL SYMBOL: IKZF3 ALTERNATE NAMES: Zinc finger protein Aiolos, Ikaros family zinc finger protein 3, IKZF3, ZNFN1A3 ACCESSION NO.: Q9UKT9 PROTEIN GI NO.: 212276437 GENE ID: 22806 USER NOTE: Optimal dilutions for each application to be determined by the researcher. Background and References This gene encodes a member of the Ikaros family of zinc-finger proteins. Three members of this protein family (Ikaros, Aiolos and Helios) are hematopoietic-specific transcription factors involved in the regulation of lymphocyte development. This gene product is a transcription factor that is important in the regulation of B lymphocyte proliferation and BACKGROUND: differentiation. Both Ikaros and Aiolos can participate in chromatin remodeling. Regulation of gene expression in B lymphocytes by Aiolos is complex as it appears to require the sequential formation of Ikaros homodimers, Ikaros/Aiolos heterodimers, and Aiolos homodimers. At least six alternative transcripts encoding different isoforms have been described. REFERENCES: 1) Billot, K., et al. Leuk. Res. 34(3):289-293(2010) 2) Hirschfield, G.M., et al. N. Engl. J.
