DPH calculates rates per 100,000 population using denominators estimated by the University of Massachusetts Donahue Institute using a modified Hamilton-Perry model (Strate S, et al. Small Area Population Estimates for 2011 through 2020, report, Oct 2016.) As of 11/5/2020, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health is using the 2019 population estimates, the most current available data. Please note: Data for these tables are based on information available in the DPH surveillance database at a single point in time. Case counts for specific cities and towns change throughout the day as data cleaning occurs (removal of duplicate reports within the system) and new demographic information (assigning cases to their city or town of residence) is obtained. 3 Massachusetts Department of Public Health COVID-19 Dashboard – Thursday, January 28, 2021 Count and Rate of Confirmed COVID-19 Cases and Tests Performed in MA by City/Town, January 1, 2020 – January 26, 2021 Average Daily Relative Total Change in Total Case Count Percent Incidence Rate Change in Total Total Tests Positive Percent City/Town Case (Last 14 Positivity per 100,000 Case Tests (Last 14 days) Tests (Last Positivity3 Count Days) (Last 14 days) (Last 14 days)1 Counts2 14 days) Auburn 1216 144 62.4 Lower 24469 2364 154 6.51% Lower Avon 357 58 94.7 Lower 5711 568 65 11.44% Lower Ayer 662 56 49.4 Lower 14271 951 64 6.73% Lower Barnstable 2516 344 54.9 Lower 49633 5169 384 7.43% Lower Barre 208 26 33.4 Lower 5596 535 29 5.42% Lower Becket 46 <5 11.9 Lower 1875 202 5 2.48% Lower Bedford 670 83 39.5 Lower 28087 2934 98 3.34% Lower Belchertown 600 103 45.8 Lower 22813 2250 123 5.47% Lower Bellingham 784 89 35.3 Lower 16410 1435 103 7.18% Lower Belmont 904 124 32.3 Lower 46147 4889 147 3.01% No Change Berkley 523 80 83.8 Lower 7925 808 93 11.51% Lower Berlin 148 27 59.8 Lower 4215 414 29 7.00% No Change Bernardston 36 <5 13.8 No Change 2760 279 4 1.43% Lower Beverly 2636 296 51.5 Lower 99124 7092 352 4.96% Lower Billerica 2829 252 41.2 Lower 55280 5152 292 5.67% Lower Blackstone 435 65 51.4 Lower 8814 800 70 8.75% Lower Blandford 43 11 65.0 Higher 1072 131 12 9.16% Higher Data are current as of 11:59pm on 01/26/2021; For populations <50,000, <5 cases are reported as such or suppressed for confidentiality purposes. 1 For the calculations used to delineate Grey, Green, Yellow, and Red, please see table on page 24. 2Number of new cases occurring over the current two-week period (1/10/2021– 01/23/2021) compared to the previous two-week period (1/03/2021– 01/16/2021).
